'Pakia tea' is one of the latest designs from the drawing board of James Wharram the internationally respected designer of the true Polynesian "double canoe" cruising multihull (www.wharram.com). More than 4000 boats of his designs have been built since James first crossed the Atlantic in 1956 in his 25ft ‘Tangaroa' catamaran, the first multihull to make the crossing. While his classic designs focus on simple functionality the Pahis aim to satisfy the more discerning cruising sailors.

James has chosen the beautiful Pahi' 63 'Spirit of Gaia' for his personal boat, but has said that he considers her successor, the Pahi 53, to be his masterpiece being the perfect combination of hull shape and beam/length ratio. Our 'Pakia tea' was professionally built under personal supervision of James Wharram in South East Asia at the Thailand boat yard Seascape Ltd. owned and managed by Günther Nutt a Lichtenstein cabinet maker turned boat builder. His yard is on the Island of Phuket, where he builds Wharram ‘Tiki' and ‘Pahi' boats to the highest specifications.

Until December 2011 'Pakia tea' has been in the caring hands of Gulf Charters Thailand. In January 2012 we sailed her back to Phuket und was refitted and equipped for our purposes during 2012-2013.
